whew - needed to get that out

I have had a horrendous week at work. I knew it was going to drag itself into a knotted hernia of spastically twitching uselessness and irrelevancy. I should start a new blog about everything that annoys me about people just like you. In fact, it likely would be all about you. You KNOW who you are. Don't feel bad, though. It's likely that I dislike everyone and not just you. I am altogether too bitchy for my own good. It is much easier to fester and talk about you behind your back. I mean, it's not every day I don't like you. Just when you do stupid things.

Polite Notice
I do not need to relax more.
My brooding silence is not due to my need for a holiday.
I DO NOT NEED TO SMILE!!

*Thank you.

Off to work now -

By the river at the Hanover Park

Catching minnows down at the river.
Cooling off - just to get sweaty again.
Almost had to buy another pair of flip flops.
Even this heat doesn't slow the bees down.

Cuz Day at Ross's

It was Cuz day. Tyler, the girls and I were able to spend the better part of a great day hanging out with my cousins. Not just because they're family but because no matter how far apart we are geographically or how many months go by before we meet, there is always hearty laughter, comforting hugs and the knowledge that the people that know me the best are still there - reminding each other of where we have been and looking forward to seeing where we go next.
Dennis brought a video recorded 15 years ago at Ross's. We all gathered around, amazed I think at how much we've changed, how much we've grown - not just older, but closer - and how much we have gained, though we hold memories of our losses.

Chantal was able to see her favorite cousin and will have a new bike memory to hold on to. Even though she doesn't really remember the ride, she loves this picture from 2000. Ben took her for her very first bike ride. Ben has grown up to be a truly wonderful young man who Chantal almost worships.

I had a fantastic day, shared moments that I will remember forever with friends that I will grow old with - and they just happen to be family. It just can't happen again soon enough.

Second place is still good

Blondies Tavern in Ayton has a Texas Hold 'Em tournament every month, and last Saturday night I finished second! We had planned on going to Orillia but Tyler waited patiently while the other 46 players fell one by one. I was very pleased with myself and I can't wait to put my game face on again August 19th.

amazing things happen while I'm sleeping

I was awakened today by Jasmyn in order to sign for my new digital camera! That is an acceptable reason to wake mom up....lol. This will probably come as a surprise to most, but I actually read the instructions before randomly clicking buttons.

Jasmyn wrote a song while I was sleeping. (no picture of me bursting with pride) The song is really good. Yvonne lent her artistic ear to give us the title - video clip will follow in the next couple of days.

Chantal is becoming quite skilled on the recorder and can't wait for instrumental music - she has her sights set on the French Horn.
